Israel Private Jeep Tour

Day 1:

We set our Jeep Tour from Jerusalem, and into the Desert! Our first place to explore is the top of Jebel Montar – "The Keeper". The wide view from this mountain has made it famous throughout history – from the times of the Temple, when it was called "Azazel" – the place where you throw the scapegoat over the cliff, and until WW1, when it was an important part of the British fortifications against the Turk. A challenging off-road-drive brings us to the edge of the deep canyon of Nachal Kidron, where we can see the Mar Saba Monastery hanging from the cliff. After crossing the Hurkanya Valley, we have to overcome the "Death Curve" (well, you'll see…), before we search a suitable place for our night-camp.


Day 2:

Driving on the flat plateau of the Judean Desert, we are almost caught by surprise when we actually see the Dead Sea stretching in its majestic blue right below the cliff. We will continue driving along this cliff, stopping from time to time for a self-cooked cup of tea or a nice view over the Dead Sea or one of the deep canyons of the area, until we reach Masada from the back. If you are interested we can climb Masada through the Roman Ramp and even make a short visit at the site. Then we continue on the "Masada 4x4 Track" and the end of the day depends on our timing and mood: We can either drive down the steep "Ya'ir Ascent" right down to the Dead Sea (how about a dip in the sea?) and then return to Jerusalem via Jericho, or continue on the plateau to the Arad-Highway, and return to Jerusalem via that town.
