Site No 2. Yotvata Inn - Kibbutz Yotvata
A delightful cafeteria, painted in colors matching the desert. It is Kosher, either vegetarian or non-vegetarian [milk or meat]. It is open 24 hours daily, except for Friday night. On the premises you'll find a tourist information center, a store with items tourists need and items grown and made locally, and ice cream that is made right here using milk and cream from the Yotvata Dairy.
The whole complex is air conditioned, with adjacent toilets.
"Around Yotvata" – A comprehensive tour of a desert kibbutz.
Come and witness how the desert has come alive and a flourishing kibbutz exists where desolation reigned less than 50 years ago. See how dedicated people have developed advanced, intensive desert agriculture; how a busy center of ten kibbutzim has developed from a lonely desert outpost.
The tours are led by members of Kibbutz Yotvata.
Celebrations, functions and catering
"Yotvata in the Desert" - is the winning combination of the breathtaking Arava Valley landscapes and the high quality of Yotvata Inn catering. We will help you produce your private functions – weddings, bar- mitzvahs, or other celebrations, including a creative menu, music, photography and anything else you may require to realize your plan or fantasy.
Yotvata Stables
You can see the desert on horseback. Sounds interesting? With us it's a very special experience. You may ride a horse, or be driven in a horse drawn buggy along the Jordanian-Israeli border, amid the fields of the kibbutz, and enjoy the view of the fabulous mountains of Edom, which change their colors with the changing slant of the sun. Group activity includes games and making Pita bread on an open fire.
Site No3 - Kibbutz Ein Shemer
In the framework of the Agritech fair, tens of thousands of tourists with an affinity for and interest in agriculture come to visit Israel. As part of their visit we propose bringing them to visit Kibbutz Ein Shemer to undergo an authentic, Israeli, agricultural, group experience.
The visit includes:
Touring the Old Courtyard Museum – The story of Kibbutz Ein Shemer in particular and of the beginning of kibbutz settlement in general. The visitors will hear about the kibbutz idea, its uniqueness in Israel and throughout the world, how it started and what is happening today. The guided tour takes place in the reconstructed dining room, showing the kibbutz in its early days and integrating stories that illustrate the spirit of the period.
Tractor-pulled cart ride – A ride through the modern-day kibbutz will acquaint the visitors with today’s kibbutz lifestyle. During their ride participants will tour the modern agricultural branches: the modern cowsheds and dairy placing emphasis on ecology and environmental quality, and field crops growing in
the kibbutz fields (cotton, corn, chickpeas).
The olive press and flour mill – In 1908 an olive oil press was set up in the city of Jaffa (Yafo), one of the first ever powered by a diesel engine. A flour mill was also connected to this engine, and they were both operated under the same roof. The original engine and the auxiliary machines were brought to Ein Shemer and completely restored and reconstructed.
An explanation of how they work and a live demonstration of the diesel engine’s operation will be provided to the visitors.
The Shuali Workshop and Michael Hangar – A guided tour and explanations about the goings-on in the Shuali Workshop for preservation and reconstruction of tractors and other agricultural machinery from the turn of the last century will be offered the visitors. An impressive collection of old, restored tractors, among the nicest in the country, and an outstanding gallery of photos of farm
labor in Israel, are housed in Michael Hangar.
