Classic Tout in Israel from Taba Border

 

 

Day 1: Sharm El Sheikh - Taba / Eilat - Jerusalem


Early check out of our resort in Sharm El Sheikh and drive to the border-town of Taba. Here we will say goodbye to the land of pharaohs and our Egyptian escort & guide and walk with our luggage through the Egyptian immigration then into the Israeli side there we will be met with our Israeli guide and board our 5 star coach and drive through the city of Eilat, in the footsteps of the Children of Israel, King Salomon & the Queen of Sheba, and through the Arava Valley and the Dead Sea directly to Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem


Day 2: Jerusalem


Morning at leisure. This afternoon we visit the Birthplace of Jesus, Bethlehem. Today reservations have been made for us to attend a church service with the Patriarchate in Jerusalem. There is a chance this may be re -scheduled for Saturday.Overnight in Jerusalem.

 

Please Note:  As Bethlehem is under control of the Palestinian Authority, this visit can be cancelled without prior notice, due to security or other reasons. The Palestinians have responsibility for you there.

  

Day 3:  Jerusalem


We start our tour with a panoramic view of the holy city, Jerusalem, from the Mount of Olives. A leisurely walk takes us down, through the holy Jewish cemetery, to the "Garden of Gethsemane" with its "Church of all Nations" and ancient Olive trees, almost 2000 years old. We continue to the "Wailing Wall", the last remnants of the holy Jewish Temple, and walk through the colorful "Suq" (Bazaar) following the different stations of the "Via Dolorosa", the "Way of the Cross" according to Christian tradition. The Way of the Cross ends at the "Church of the Holy Sepulcher", built traditionally on the site where Jesus was crucified and buried. In the afternoon we visit the picturesque village Ein Karem, where according to local tradition John the Baptist was born. Overnight in Jerusalem

 

Day  4 :Jerusalem


In the morning we visit Mt. Zion with King David's Tomb and the Place of the Last Supper.  In the Israel Museum we visit the "Shrine of the Book", where the "Dead Sea Scrolls" and other valuable manuscripts of the Bible are exhibited and the model of Jerusalem in the Second

 Temple Period. This is a 1:50 scale model of the city, as it was during one of it's most important periods, when Judaism and Christianity, as we know them today, started to evolve. The model is built from the original materials, and is updated according to the most recent archaeological researches. We also visit Yad Vashem, the memorial of the holocaust and the famous "Menorah" (Candelabra) located in front of the "Knesset"-Building, housing Israel's Parliament. Overnight in Jerusalem

 

Day 5:  Jerusalem - Dead Sea


Today we drive down to the Dead Sea, the deepest place on earth, and climb the famous cliff-fortress of Masada by cable-car.  We then walk through the Oasis of Ein Gedi, known since the days of King David and see the waterfall. This afternoon we will have an opportunity to do some floating on the Dead Sea famous for its healing qualities. Overnight.  (B.D)

 

Day 6: Tiberias


After breakfast and hotel check out we begin our day at Caesarea Maritima, the magnificent port-city built by King Herod the Great. From here St. Peter went to Rome and started with his first miracles. We continue our magnificent journey to Nazareth, where we visit the Grand Basilica of the Annunciation, built on the remnants of St. Mary's home. After a short drive through the Hills of Galilee, we ascend to Mt. Tabor. Its majestic presence, overlooking the Jezreel Valley, has led to the tradition that it was here were Jesus' Transfiguration took place. This evening we travel by coach to Tiberias and check into our hotel for Overnight

 

Day 7: Tiberias


Today we visit the places where Jesus acted around the Sea of Galilee: Capernaum, with Peters House and the famous Synagogue. Enjoy the view from Mt. of the Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount was given, and the reconstructed church at Tabgha, where tradition puts the miracle of the Bread and The Fish. We will also sail on a boat similar to the boat used by Jesus & his disciples. We end our day at the Baptismal Site on the Holy River Jordan. Overnight Tiberias

 

Day 8:  Departure from Tel Aviv Airport


Morning at Leisure. Drive up to Mt. Carmel, to the city of Haifa, where we can enjoy the famous view from the Stella Marris Convent. Continue to Tel Aviv, where you will have some more free time and visit Jaffa, the ancient Biblical Port, where also St. Peter had the "Vision of the Flesh" at the House of Simon the Tanner. Farewell-Dinner at a Kibbutz and transfer to TLV -Ben Gurion Airport
